Day 4: Coming Home

We are leaving the hospital today!

Of course we are so excited to get Lottie home, but there is a definite safety bubble for first parents being surrounded my great nurses, doctors, lactation specialists and delicious cooks that is comforting.

The scariest trip is from the hospital to your house that first time you put your precious baby in the car. Suddenly everyone is driving too fast, noone stays in their lane and you are driving at a whopping 20 mph the entire way home.

Once home, we looked at each other and were like… what now?!

Two days ago we were simply going in for another weekly check, with no signs of labor. The apartment was a mess and depite the long list of things we needed to follow up on from missing a week of work and life, all we could find ourself doing is staring at baby.

The rest of the day we had a steady flow of grandparents and friends stop by to visit Lottie. She efinitely doesnt mind being held and passed around because that is how she spent the first few days of life.

She loves her snuga puppy more than anything – this is where she spends most of her day when she isn’t in our arms.
